Allotment Flowers

September 15, 2008

Hooray, we saw some sunshine at the weekend at long last!  We went to the allotment where my daughters love to pick any flowers they can find including forget-me-nots, speedwell, dandelions and more.  This time they picked mint, dill and lavender flowers ( the japanese anemone came from the garden).

They also like to pick raspberries and beans.   While we are on the allotment the girls also like to make woodlouse homes and run up and down throwing any badly damaged apples into the compost heap – ah, the simple things in life are the best!

It’s not a great photo and I don’t think we’ll win any awards for flower arranging but they brighten up the kitchen.

Any one else prefer the random flower pickings to the shop bought flowers?
