Basil Pesto

I’ve been busy writing a basil article and taking photos for my contribution to a book being published by Black Dog Publications and thought I’d share some of the photos so far.

Ingredients: basil, olive oil, pecorino cheese, parmesan cheese, pine nuts, garlic, salt and pepper

Roughly chopped

After gradually adding the olive oil

Hey pesto! (sorry, couldn’t resist!)

Looks almost luminous doesn’t it, tastes delicious though. Will have it later with baked potato. Yum.

It also tastes good with chicken, pasta, tomatoes, fish or salad.
