Chocolate Heaven – naughty but nice

Yes, I know you have probably made a new year’s resolution to give up chocolate but personally I’ve come to realise that this is one resolution I just can’t keep consistently. So my current method is to

have 1 chunk of chocolate after a main meal so the sugar rush isn’t as severe – this is also the advice I received when I had gestational diabetes and had to change my diet to counter it (all fine now, as long as I’m sensible). Admittedly, I wasn’t advised to eat chocolate after my meal, but anything with sugar in it was to be after a meal. Although at one point I remember being told my blood sugar levels were getting too low and I should eat a plain digestive biscuit before I went to bed! Anyway it helps to have some very special chocolate so it can be savoured and enjoyed more.

So luckily, my husband recently bought me two bars of chocolate (I think he likes to test my willpower?). The one I tried yesterday was Montezuma’s organic Peppermint and Vanilla milk chocolate and it was divine. The other bar is Montezuma’s organic geranium and orange dark chocolate; it will be a while until I try this one but I’ll keep you posted!

Anyone else have any recommendations for especially nice chocolates or how to give it up completely?

You can get GORGEOUS chocolates from! I had some for Christmas. Love the blog, keep up the good work!
