Grow Your Own Drugs

February 26, 2009

The BBC are showing a six part series of programmes called ‘Grow your own Drugs’ starting on 2nd March 2009 at 20:30 on BBC Two.

In the programme ethnobotanist (a scientist who studies how people use plants) James Wong will be demonstrating how to use familiar plants for natural remedies to ease the symptoms of minor everyday ailments and also how to make some pampering beauty treatments.  You can read some more background about the programme on the BBC website here.

The first episode covers the many uses of various fruits.  I’m really looking forward to this series and hope that the programme does have some substance as so eloquently outlined in the blog post here written by Max Drake, a medical herbalist.
