Garden grabbing is the new threat to domestic gardens. Developers are searching for houses with large gardens, buying them, applying to knock the house down to put several new homes or flats on the plot. The land qualifies as ‘brownfield’ and is favoured in planning guidance so developers are likely to win appeals.
